I ran into Jeri today. Not literally, but in a sense. I was out running to outrun the Corona virus (hehe, see what I did there) and I happened upon Jeri walking Jose. I always run that route and wonder if I'll see her. She's an amazing person. I admire her spunk and aspire to the same longevity. She had on the neatest rose colored glasses and little Jose was cavorting around ready to resume the walk. We spoke and I was glad for the 30 seconds of rest. It's been so cool meeting some of the MyBloggers along the way and I never imagined living this close to one you. If I ever make it to Canada, I'd like to take Marg and Mr. Marg out to eat.
Today I was able to run 4 miles, up from my customary 3 miles. I'm secretly harboring dreams of repeating the half marathon which was postponed until October because of Corona virus.
Speaking of COVID-19, I saw a Facebook post of a sign on a hotel pool gate which read, "Due to Carnivorous, the pool will be closed this season" or something to that effect. I guess they have alligators?? Ha!
Also speaking of COVID-19, my wife and I are being tested again at 10:30 this morning. Since Friday she's complained that she cannot smell or taste anything. If she or I test positive, we have to self-quarantine for 2 weeks. Our previous tests came back negative. It's so frustrating, because we had already suspended church services for two weeks and were all ready to go back to normal schedule. Just to be safe, we all stayed home yesterday and the deacons took care of things. Fortunately, all of our deacons are also ministers, so they won't miss me much. Through the wonders of technology, we were able to enjoy the services from home, but it's never the same.
Jennifer and I keep daydreaming of the mountains of New Mexico, but with the recent church merger and our recent trip to San Antonio, it's just one of those things we can't do right now. It's so much cooler there and we've been having heat indices above 100 for days now.
Y'all take care and be safe. I'll keep you posted on the results our tests.
