Listening

I'm listening to the election results on XM Radio, 1,000 miles from home. Not gloating, yet, because I realize that the proof is in the pudding, something many apparently disenchanted Obama voters found out these past couple of years. Spin it any way you want, this is a notification to Washington. I'll be interested to see what real change is accomplished, if any. I suppose someone could try to blame Hannity and Limbaugh and maybe even Bush and Palin for the election results, but frankly, that would be ludicrous. America is speaking, part of it sheepishly.

We had our turn at "gloating". Go ahead--enjoy. Check back with us in two years.

No gloating, seriously. No enjoyment either. Not until someone can show even slight glimmers that the economy is getting better. Two years was enough time to at least make a dent in it, and it wasn't done. The days of blaming Bush for it are over.

Americans from the heartland are easily seduced by glib talk and Obama failed to get his message across. Obama's big mistake was in overestimating voter intelligence. The message Washington is getting is that people want everything yesterday. That is not possible no matter which party is in the majority. Also Republicans catered to racism, always an underlying current. Those Americans who thought they were returning to normal after an mistaken vote for Obama, were those who were ready to give the black guy a chance, but oh my God, he is not God. What have we done.

If there is general ignorance on the part of Americans, it's is evenly spread between Dems, Repubs and Tea Partiers. I seriously doubt the "heartland" is any more gullible than anyone else in the country.

Gloat if you want. I did my part and voted yesterday.

Nah, no gloating. I'm just waiting to see what happens. Has it cooled down in Oklahoma yet? We're still having temps in the low eighties here.
