Today was a blast. My two colleagues and I went to Guadalajara after not having been there in a few weeks. Jennifer celebrates her 28th birthday today and we wanted to make it special. I think it was.
We had to stop by immigration, which is a whole other story in and of itself. After an hour and a half there, we ran directly to the Tortas Ahogadas place behind the Sears building. Incidentally, we ran into some friends there. In fact, he is the very person who introduced me to the Tortas Ahogadas behind the Sears building. Imagine running into friends in a place as big as Guadalajara. We chatted a while and promptly left to milk the rest of the day for all it was worth.
After buying a Bible for presentation in a wedding this weekend and some strings for my guitar, we went to the "Spools" section of the city. Stores and stores of yarn and craft stuff. Since I taught the girls how to crochet, they're crazy about new yarn. So, having loaded up on necessary things like doiley yarn and sweater yarn and who knows what else, we left.
Off to the more affluent part of the city. Zapopan has a nice mall and Outback Steakhouse. After stumbling around the mall for a while and purchasing some of my favorite candy bars, we were hungry and went to Outback to eat. Everything was great. The steak done to perfection and the service was exceptional. Rare treat, that. LOL
We headed home to relax and enjoy a quiet evening.
Tomorrow, we have visitors from San Luis Potosi coming in for the wedding of a friend. Fortunately, one of them will speak on Sunday, leaving me only Saturday night and Sunday Morning's discourses to prepare.
Maybe soon I'll write about my experiences with the Mexican immigration department and the little run in I had with the Federal Police. ARGH!!! LOL
