I spent all day yesterday knitting a bag which was going to be my first ever felted project, I knitted the body in a really nice beige merino and the sides and bottom and handle in a brown flecked Yorkshire tweed. well I finished the bag and sew it up ready for felting today, the time comes it goes in the washing machine on a 95'C wash take it out and the brown tweed has felted and looks great but the beige merino hasn't so in it goes for another cycle and again no felting so in again this time I decide to add a fast spin and nothing it came out and STILL the beige has not felted so I was just about to start swearing at the washing machine so I went to look on the Internet for a solution and boy is my face red. Apparently you can't felt wool if it is "superwash" as it has been pre treated so it wont felt. It is now in the bin and im back to working on my odments scarfe for a friend.
This is me with my knitting I think knitting causes premature ageing lol. (not really me)
