Vacation Update

Hi all, I feel ashamed I was away so long (must been about 7 weeks), but also need to admit I had a great time last 5 weeks during my vacation.
I am not a great writer but will write some about my vacation in France but not before I want to greet you all again, hoping all is ok with you all.
As you all know it was a bit hectic the last week at school and even on my first day off (Friday July 3) I received phonecalls from school to explain several issues about the audit to come in September to some colleagues.
Well, finally, we left for France on Sunday July 5. We had planned to drive about 600 km (about 400 miles) and then stay on a campsite in the neighborhood of Dijon. Well all went as planned so... no problem at all. We had a nice dinner and it was a pleasant short stay there.
Monday we drove to the beautiful lake of Aiguebelette in the France alps. On a campsite there we we stayed for 5 days. It was a campsite we visited about 10 years ago and we just wanted to see if all things still were the same. Well the only thing that was changed was the growing of the trees and so. A nice green campsite with all kind of nice facilities.
Next place to visit was Fréjus in the south of France, a town at the Mediterranean Sea. We had booked a campsite (only one place still was available) in a pine tree wood, a nice shady spot. From Fréjus we visited several nice cities, the beach off course and we finally were able to visit Monaco for the first time in our life. Monaco is nice, busy and expensive but worth a visit.
Also visited a perfume factory in Grasse and the famous town of Cannes. In the harbor there a lot of amazing ships of the well fortuned ones. No one aboard but crew to clean lol.
In the south of France we stayed for 9 days and then left to the west coast of France to the Atlantic ocean. There it was a final week of resting, laying on the beach, and visiting some nice little cities.
The moments we were at the campsite we read a lot and specially for AJ: Did you ever heard of the author Stieg Larssen? He wrote a great trilogy named: Millennium, its sure worth reading it. They also made a movie of all parts and part one was released here last week...a nice movie I must admit with actors well chosen for the rolls they played.
August 3 we drove home again, the end of a great vacation. The weather in Holland was great as well so we visited our own beach here several times and that was something we had not done in almost a year lol.
Catch you later again.
