I feel ashamed I did not post very much lately. Off course there is a reason for it. It is so very busy at work at the moment you cant imagine.

At work we received an announcement by the government that the annual inspection will take place soon. They will audit (I hope you know that word lol) some courses in which I am involved as member of the exam-office.

Last year those courses were NOT ok that is why my management re-organised the exam-office structure. So now its my responsibility and I must admit a hell of a job to get all things ready for inspection.

Problem was that the inspector was not happy with the exams our students had to make last year. They were too easy and not enough related to the things our students need to know.

Another point was that the inspector found the exams were not validated enough, it was not very clear how to mark them and how to get the final decision: failed or passed.

So ..... last weeks the exams kept me busy a lot. I re-wrote them, I made clear what the relation was to what our students need to know and made a clear plan to evaluate the exams.

Next Friday is the death line to sent all exams, all regulations, all things to prove validity towards the inspection.

I wont complain about this all, but...

An intern audit also will be here to justify the amount of money we received for education development in new ways of teaching and some other innovations. The manager in charge left our college a few weeks ago and I cant say he had a good administration. So a lot of things need to be done here to prove that the money we received is spent in the right way. We all know that we spent it right but there are not many thing on paper (or digital) to prove. Its about quite a lot of money ( 600.000 euro) and when we cant find enough evidence its possible we need to pay back an amount of money.

I never felt stress the way I feel right now ( I know Martin I shouldn't feel stressed but cant help it,  I still sleep very well btw).

Well some nice things happened as well last weeks.

My second and third son both succeeded in getting their driver's licences. So they borrow my ( and also my wife's) car a lot last days. It will cost me a fortune on gas I think, so after this week they will need to pay .... (see it as a gift these last weeks).

My eldest son's girlfriend will come back from Canada next Sunday, after 13 weeks busy with studying there. He is counting down and I am sure they will spent quite some time together next week ;-))

When checking my calendar I noticed I have no Saturday-evening available to spent at home till June 14, all kind of parties to come. That does not feel bad but sometimes I just want to spent a night in the weekend on our own. I also look forward to our holiday to Madrid (Spain) starting April 27 till May 8. Sorry to say but to avoid too many mails about your posts I will unsubscribe to all of you before leaving, but be sure I will subscribe after coming back.

We (my wife and me) also planned to celebrated our (both) 50^th birthdays together in June. My wife's will become 50 in May and I will in August so we made a combination to celebrate in June.

Another thing to look forward to is the holiday in July off course. It will be quite different then last year when we visited the USA I am sure.

Well lets say enough now to bore you with. I will continue as soon as possible. Wish me luck with the audits..... ( I looking forward to them lololololol)
