DH sounds a lot like Mr. Bugg.....not the handiest man about the house but full of good intentions(and other stuff har har). His lack of skill never stopped him from buying all the latest tools and gadgets.

I've seen Avon books in the laudramat, at the doctor's office, and other places where people are forced to idle away time. I always enjoyed perusing them while waiting.

a tribute to human resiliancy....verah cool. Cooler still...Tina Turner as the featured "artist". She didn't let this "Ike" keep her down either.

the fifies were a simpler, more secure time but you are correct about women's rights and I don't even wanna talk about how bad racism was then. Each historical era has it's good and bad aspects.

my advice? stay single. If you and R are good as you are, don't tamper with it. tell yer ex to go p-ss up a rope. As for children, I'd stick with dogs. They are better behaved.

Personally, I think Palin is a lightweigth...I think McCain would have been better served with someone like Kay Bailey Hutchinson or Kristy Todd Whitman or Olympia Snow on his ticket. These are Republican women with strong credentials that no one could have denied. I don't think Mr. Obama is well served with these air head Hollywood types coming out for him. But all that matters not because I am the candidate of the people and come January, both Obama and McCain are gonna be home, sitting in their shorts watching me take the oath and wondering "Wha..hoppened?"

they called me for jury duty once. It was a traffic accident. I got a good eye ball view of how the justice system works. The plaintiffs (white bid'ness people) were suing the defendent(a black man and his disabled daughter) for some sort of colision. The plaintiff's attorney was middle aged, tall, hansome and distinguished looking; a guy who looked like he'd been carved out of cream cheese and fairly screamed "sucessful law firm". The defendent's attorney was an elderly, short, twitchy little man who looked like he practiced law out of the trunk of his car. There were about 50 of us in the jury pool and they called the first twelve up and asked them questions i.e. "have you ever been in a accident", "have you had legal bid'ness with either of the representing attorneys?" and so on. They were apparently satisfied with the first twelve potential jurors 'cause they dismissed the rest of us. Well, at least I got the day off from work with pay.
