You seem to have been irretrievably damaged. So sorry. But, if an unshared life is better than risking another mistake, I would not criticize. My divorced friend, Inese, also has remained unmarried after her husband sank into paranoid schizophrenia, stalked her, and still mooches periodicaly. When she is kind to him, it triggers abuse, but she continues to help him. And you thought you had bad luck. And then there's me. I too would not marry again -- preferring to be friends with benefits, assuming that is still possible if I am ever alone again.
