Crime and Punishment

I think punishment should fit the crime. You shoot someone, then you get shot. You rape sumone, you get put in a cell wif Bubba. You molest a child, then Bubba wears a clown suit in that cell. You kill an animal, you get put in a cell with a king cobra.

In agreement with all you have said Hobbie. This countries level of fatalities - from babies, teenage stabbings to drug orientated 'gangster' murders have become 'so' common, they are no longer 'news'!!!!!!

We need to bring back the death penalty. This way, it might deter, the person from actually doing it.

As for crimes against animals - let the owners of the animal have a very, long leash to be able to have their revenge (as my husband did, when he found the poisoner of one of my cats . . . . )

hey my comment meant to be general, not to you specificially. Here's the one for you: There are so many legal avenues to delay an execution that the convicted person may be on death row for many ears and exhaust dozens of appeals, all of which are tremendously expensive for the state. My late husband used to say that the death penalty is not a deterrent because it is not carried out immediately. And for that, you'd have to totally change the legal system. And the other side is, of course, that there have been innocents sent to death row. It is not an easy problem to solve.

That's pretty bliblical. Don't see it ever happening.

I don't care about 'the expense' - if it acts as a deterrent - to STOP these (very horrific, crimes in most cases) from happening, then it is money WELL spent, I believe.

It is cheaper to keep them in jail. The death penalty is very expensive.
