Well I guess there is no more reason to put it off. After about 10 years at the Nashville Rescue Mission I have decided to call it quits. I came to the Mission as a client and am leaving it as the assistant to the Director of Transient Operations.
I have just become burned out and don’t want to deal with it anymore.
There are many good people there doing the best they can with the few tools they have. I admire them and wish them the best.
As soon as my life slows a little bit I plan on telling some of the stories here that I have collected. I guess it will be sort of a “MASH†under the Cross.
There many people I will miss-but most of all I will miss the guys I worked for -the homeless. Some of the best people I have ever known are people that have to sleep at the Mission. I wish them God Speed and God Bless.
