Why do people pay for cable or satellite television, newspapers or periodicals, when they can get all the information, news, drama, crime, comedy and stupidity about the human condition for a fraction of the cost by watching politicians on the internet?
On Jan. 29, a philandering, former presidential candidate endorsed another philandering candidate to be the Republican candidate for president while they both trumpeted their family and Christian values. That is the epitome of comedic irony.
A state representative in Texas introduced a tough illegal immigrant law but excluded landscapers and housekeepers because it would harm the local economy. I wonder who does her landscaping and housekeeping? Enforce the current federal laws and arrest and or severely fine individuals and companies for knowingly hiring illegal immigrants. There's a paradigm of hypocrisy.
A congresswoman is shot in the head by a zealot, survives, is on a hard road to recovery and resigns her seat in Congress so she can recover and her constituents can have a representative who can be there for them. She's an example for all of us, a true heroine. Where can you find more drama and self-sacrifice?
A highly regarded state attorney general becomes the governor of a state and won because of his reputation for honesty, integrity, family values and tough stance against crime is busted and convicted for soliciting prostitutes.
A perfect tale about deception and leading a double life.
The list is infinite because of all the local, municipal, county, parish and state politics that exist. Politicians are extremely entertaining, and it's free.
Unfortunately, these bozos do affect our lives, and most Americans don't have the ability to separate the charlatans from the competent, and the two-party system restricts that ability.
