The Tiger

The Tiger
William Blake

Tiger Tiger. burning bright,
In the forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye.
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies.
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand, dare seize the fire?

And what shoulder, & what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat.
What dread hand? & what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain,
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp.
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears
And watered heaven with their tears:
Did he smile His work to see?
Did he who made the lamb make thee?

Tiger Tiger burning bright,
In the forests of the night:
What immortal hand or eye,
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

I like the white tigers too, but to 'go with the poem', I needed an Asian one - but I did add the 'white' one at the end

Aw thanx babe I have very 'ordinary' sort of mundane life here with all the children grown up and gone, so it is not worth me writing my 'day to day' happenings Now and again, I do if someting interesting occurs
It has it's 'up-side' - I am free to research history and everything else which gets caught into the 'sieve' part of my brain

Hiya nenah, I have been thinking of you lately actually (I am augusta too). I have more references to 'Gilbert de Clare' and I am slowly putting them all together - shouldn't be much longer - I will probably, post them on this blog (it coincides with recent posts - sort of)
I'm happy you liked the Tiger post
