Ha Ha Ha the Joke's on Me!

Just when I was resigned to winter being over and Spring coming, old man winter delivers my winter storm I had been wishing for! I don't know how much we have so far, about 6 inches? I worked yesterday until 11 last night. It was full panic mode at walmart. Luckily I had a buddy working with me, Josh. He is really funny and likes making fun of customers. We had a good time all day. Except for the fact that the CSM's kept forgetting my breaks it was a good shift. I was on an express lane, right by the doors. I had several layers of clothes on but everytime that door opened I was blown away. And there were still people shopping at 11 believe it or not. The roads were a mess at that point, with several inches of snow already. When I took my last break a little after 10 it was blizzard conditions. But I really needed a smoke, my nerves were shot. I found my buddy Jake hanging out by the doors. He was my snow shield. He found a corner that was shielded from the snow and then stood in front of me to block most of the wind. Jake's brother John was my best buddy who got fired recently. So I guess Jake has now taken on the role of my protector as John used to be. I have never met two young men who are so considerate and caring. It is quite refreshing. And as I wrote earlier about Jake's date, they are now boyfriend and girlfriend. I have never seen him happier!
I was smart and put a broom in my car before leaving for work yesterday. I had a ton of snow on my car. And I hurt my back getting all the snow off. But I am one of those people who makes sure to get all the snow off. There is nothing more dangerous than riding behind a car covered in snow and it slams into your windshield! I had to drive about 20 mph the whole way home. The highway was sort of plowed. And I had one lovely jackass who had to pass me! I bet he wound up in a ditch later that night!
I had to call hubby when I was leaving work. In his words, so he would know when to start worrying. Our road was the worse, hadn't been plowed but some cars had been down it. It was hard staying in the tracks as it was icy. As soon as I hit the driveway, I floored it so I wouldn't get stuck. I was scheduled off today anyway.
One more thing, we kept losing power last night. Me, Kota and Stormy got up when the power was off. I woke hubby up so he could turn on the gas heater. That is so handy to have! We were thinking of camping out in the living room and then the power came back on.
So I got my wish for a big snow storm. Even if it is March 2nd! I think I will just stay inside today and enjoy the beauty of it. It's still snowing it's butt off. It's not supposed to stop until 2. We are supposed to get somewhere between 9 and 12 inches! Kota of course is thrilled! He has already been out once. He came in looking my own personal snow boy!
