My Upset Sister

I thought I might dedicate this post to my sister. She's been going through a rough patch recently because Child Protective Services just put her son, aka my nephew Xanderman, in a mental hospital. It all started with the school guidance counselor accusing my sister of being a bad mother for not taking Xanderman's suicide attempt seriously. He did try to hang himself back in February but told his parents that he was only wanting attention. He told my father, aka his Granddad, something to the effect that he was playing a game called "pass-out" (for those that don't know what that is, it's when a teenager gets a rush or high from strangulation. Sometimes during masturbation). Back to the guidance counselor, she kept bugging my sister during her work hours about this but didn't want to address this on her day off. My sister's days off were Sundays and Tuesdays until the constant calling at work got her fired. Long story short, the counselor turned my sister in to child protective services and they put Xanderman in the hospital for evaluation. I'm mad because they made my sister and brother-in-law out to be bad parents. The only fault with them being parents is that they were too young. My sister was two weeks shy of her 18th birthday when she gave birth to her oldest child, my niece Silly. Xanderman was born two years later. He's now 13. He's a great kid. Very polite. He can be a pain in the ass but that goes with being a teenager. His parents do care. In fact, they put them in a charter school because the regular public school wasn't giving them a good education. I'm not blaming the teachers. I'm blaming budget cuts and over crowded classrooms. This charter school has limited enrollment and a dress code. They wear uniforms. Very casual though. Polo shirts and khaki pants (optional skirts for girls.) Absolute zero tolerance for fighting. These were the things Xanderman needed because he was constantly getting picked on at his old school. When he fought back he got suspended. Now this crap happens. The only reason this over zealous guidance counselor got involved because some kid overheard Xanderman talking to his friends and told the counselor. My sister tried to make appointments but she's only available on Tuesdays and the counselor is available on Wednesdays,Thursdays, and Fridays. Now my sister has free time and plans on helping out the Xanderman. I know child protective services is there for the child in the event of abuse. I've seen Xanderman around his parents and by himself. He's just a normal teenage boy that may have some problems. He's been to therapy when he was younger and all they wanted to do is put him on medication. There is no abuse. If they wanted to see abuse, they should have got on the case of my other sister. My parents are raising her two boys because she would rather do drugs. She just completed her gazillionth stint in rehab and doesn't make any effort to try to visit her kids. Her oldest lives with his father because she showed up high on heroin at the custody hearing. It's a good thing because he's in good hands. I guess my point is Child Protective Services goes after the wrong people. Good people make mistakes yet they get targeted while scumbag white trash can keep their kids and be allowed to abuse them both physically and mentally. The nephew my parents are watching is afraid of the dark because my bitch sister threw him in a dark closet because he was crying. Now he screams when my dad forgets to turn on the night light. I just don't understand the system. Please explain it to me.

Sometimes institutions are just steeped in insanity. Hope things work out for your sister and her son.

You can't explain it, for it is certainly flawed. If the counselor was so concerned, why wasn't an effort made to meet? The counselor should have gathered more information first!
