Al Roker is doing his annual charity event where he travels to several states giving to local charities. His first stop was in the state where I grew up, Idaho. He actually went to Rupert, Idaho, which is approximately 200 miles southeast from where I grew up. I agree with the charity he gave to, The Idaho Youth Ranch. My rant is that he thinks everyone from Idaho is a bunch of backwoods hicks. He dressed like a cowboy and called everyone cowpokes. For the record, I'm not a cowboy. I'm more of the rocker type. I can't stand country music (OK I like Charlie Daniels only because he is edgy.) I get pissed when the local station here on the coast plays country songs. If I hear Carrie Underwood's song "Before He Cheats" one more time I will explode. That's beside the point. Al Roker insulted Idaho. Everyone there is not a cowboy. In fact, Boise State(despite the fact I can't stand them)were WAC champions in 2006. Boise is a fast growing city. It is not the backward state that Al made it out to be. The growth is the main reason I left. My family still lives there and I will keep visiting while they still live there.
'nuff said.
