Earth Day

Today is Earth Day. So turn on every light in your house, flush all the toilets once an hour, leave the fridge open for added air conditioning, and leave your SUV running in the driveway. Just kidding. I wanted to see how everyone reacts. This day is all about doing the opposite of what I just said. Listen to Al Gore. Global warming is real people(god that sounded preachy.) Recycling is good. Shred all your important papers before you recycle them and you not only prevent identity theft but you also give someone else something to wipe their ass with(BTW...most of the shredded documents become either toilet paper or paper towels. I wouldn't suggest wiping your ass with shredded paper...EEEEEEEWWWWWWWW!) They are even using old plastic water bottles to make carpet fibers out of. Pretty cool. Here in Oregon we have to pay a deposit on Soda bottles and cans(also on 1 liter and smaller bottled water, sports drinks(gator ade, power ade, etc.) energy drinks(red bull, full throttle, etc.),and some bottled juices. That actually forces people here to recycle containers. I do that anyway. PD and I actually recycle aluminum foil among other things. Before we moved here to the coast, we lived in Idaho(outside of Boise in a town called Caldwell.) PD used to be a High School English teacher(I hate when she reads my posts because she is always giving me shit about my improper grammar.) How that relates to my post and Earth Day is she was the faculty adviser for her school's Recycling Club(later we heard it was renamed.) A group of students started it and knew how PD was environmentally conscious. We recycled before that and always took our stuff to a recycling drop off. Here on the coast we get curbside recycling(except for glass...we still have to take that to our recycling center.) If everyone recycled, we would really save the planet and make it a better place for our great-grandchildren and beyond.
'nuff said.
