As a customer, I use my debit card more than I do cash because it seems safer to use. I sometimes carry a little cash for small things. I try to use my debit card for purchases over $5.00 because that is most stores' minimum. I prefer to use it for over $10.00. As an employee of a retail business, it pisses me off people using their debit cards for $1.00 purchases. Give me a break. If you don't have a dollar then you don't need it that bad. If you can't find enough to make at least a $5.00 purchase then don't buy it with your card. Before I decided to look for other employment I tried to get Boss Bitch to put a minimum on debit/credit card purchases because she always complained about the cost to run them. I even mentioned other stores do it. Some of them have a $10.00 minimum. She was afraid to lose business. People are understanding. I even get asked if we have a minimum and I tell them "no". F**k her if she doesn't want them to spend more for card purchases. I'm hoping to be out of there. Someday I may decide to open my own business and I will definitely put a spending minimum on card purchases in my store.
'nuff said.
