I'm crying. Oh, Martin, I'm so sorry because I know you love your birds so much. Spitfire was beautiful...I loved seeing pictures of her.
Okay, so it's a good thing you still post your "stuff" on that other site or I wouldn't even know you've been posting anything! If I didn't see it there, I wouldn't know to come over here! Darn it, this is so frustrating!
Anyway, that brain of yours is sometimes too much. So smart, so much memory recall, so organized, so persistent, so disciplined, so so so much! My brain is pretty good, too...it can get me in trouble sometimes, but it's still pretty good.
Take a good, long, double lather shower and a real close shave BEFORE you go to bed. Put a few ice cubes in the birds' water, go for a swim yourself, take in a movie, and keep cool the best you can. If you don't think it'll scare the birds, you can always go au natural around the apartment until the AC comes back on.
Some parents teach their values so strongly that they will not "patronize" anything that is contrary to their beliefs. If something goes against their way of thinking, they will not tolerate or allow their children to be subjected to anything that doesn't "sit right" with them. To be honest, I know some people personally that would have objected to their children even attending school that day, and they do not discriminate against gays/lesbians and they do not condone hate crimes. But, they do not believe that protests are something that should be taking place in schools. This was not a school matter, nor is a school any place for any involvement in certain issues. Therefore, there are parents who just do not want their children to be a part of a school protest and, maybe at that age, they are being discouraged from participating in any protest." Could some be due to possible "bad" publicity that might reflect on the parent's true feelings or affect their position in society or on the job?
Ok, second attempt to comment on this. (The computer froze during my first attempt.) I don't think this movie is on the top of my "must see" list, but I wouldn't necessarily avoid seeing it on DVD.
I and the world are thankful that you have survived the abuse, have reached the level of remembering it but it not controlling you, and the will to share in order to help. There are so many who need that help and so many others who may be able to help if they know what it really is and does and, of course, what to look for and do. You are doing an excellent job of reaching people with your words of knowledge, experience, and advice and it is greatly appreciated. (It may not be a primary purpose of your writing, but you might like to know that you are also letting a whole lot of abuse survivors, as well as present victims, that they are not alone.)
That is beyond terrible! Hearsay? The injuries were documented. The doctor documented his assessment of the injuries and what could have possibly caused the injuries, which matched the suspicions and accusations! Hearsay?
Like the priest that said, "But that's your father! You must obey your father because the 10 Commandments tell you so! I'm sure it's not as bad as you say it is, so go home and be a good girl. And don't tell anymore lies."
I can imagine that it's quite a sight, but I can also imagine how difficult it can be for people to breathe with that in the air. It must be quite an eye irritant for a lot of people, too.
Awww, ADORABLE!
Those bulbs are great, aren't they? We're saving money here, too! I've also learned that there are a number of things that do not need to stay plugged in all the time, but will draw, therefore use some electricity while they are plugged in. So, things like irons, hairdryers, small appliances, cell phone chargers, radios, even coffeemakers (if no clock or timers are needed) can be unplugged until needed. Each may represent pennies, but pennies add up and some will add up faster than others!
I was going to say...maybe guess...true. Then, on my way down to the comment box, I saw all the comments and replies along the way, so I already know that it's a true story. So, I guess I'm a good guesser!
A smart, easy to train dog...what a wonderful, helpful friend!
Good answers! I did this, too, and I got a kick out of my own answers!
Cute...maybe he prefers handsome...boy! It will be nice to spend time with him and I'll bet he's going to love the Transformers movie.
