May 22: My Dad's birthday. Edie worked 9:00-9:00, so she was unable to attend, but I was able to go to my mom and dad's apartment in time to join them for supper. My Aunt Jean, who is my father's sister who lives in Florida, was visiting with them for a few days and, therefore, was also there for supper. My father loves chow mein, so my aunt's treat for his birthday was getting enough Chinese take-out to feed us all. After that, of course, we had birthday cake and ice cream.

May 29: This was the end of almost a week-and-a-half's worth of petsitting. It was the job I often do for some people I became friends with from when I was working as a travel agent. They went to Florida and I wasn't going anywhere, so I helped them out by keeping an eye on their pets and their house. It's really a job I don't mind doing and it gives me an opportunity to make a little money at the same time.
