I do pop in and out of Blogster once or twice a day and spend as much time here as time will allow. However, that time has been a lot more limited than it ever was in the past and it appears it is going to remain rather limited for some time yet.

Most of you know from earlier posts that I have had to spend more time focusing on unfinished projects, backed-up responsibilities, things never started that needed doing, and a pile of waiting email, papers, mail, and more. And, more recently, I spent a little over 2-1/2 days "hanging" with my friend and her husband from New Jersey and helping out my boss a little more while he awaited more definite information from his cardiologist.

My boss was scheduled for a "procedure" on Friday and, if everything went well, a stent would be put in. But, the procedure was stopped and he was informed that bypass surgery will be necessary. He's not expected to go into the hospital until later in the month, but he is not supposed to be working, and he's obviously not going to be working at all for awhile after the surgery is done. So, although I was supposed to have the end of last week completely off from work, I ended up monitoring voicemail messages all day Thursday and Friday, and part of the day on Saturday. None of that interfered with the fun of being with my friends, but it did require some phone work and some night paperwork that I wasn't expecting.

My boss is now training me at the office so that I can take over his job when he goes in to have his surgery and for as much beyond that date as needed. There are so many different forms, reports, computer programs, types of office equipment, business contacts, and more to learn about and get used to so that I can take care of things during his absence. It's a good thing that another worker (an inspector) will be in and out of the office and can be of some significant help to me. The schedule I will have will be somewhat flexible, but I will still be working every weekday from 9:30 to 4:30 and on Saturdays for an hour or two.

Well, that's all of what has been keeping me away from blogging and it appears that this will be how things will be for awile. But, I just want you to know, that when I do get to be on the computer (whether blogging or doing something else), I am using a new used computer! Yep, that friend from NJ had recently purchased a new computer, so the one being replaced became something she wanted to give me. So, at one point when we were together, my friend pulled out this computer and handed it to me, with her best wishes. Everything isn't hooked up yet and there are plenty of things yet to be loaded into it, but I do have that new old computer running and it is a lot faster and better than the one I've been using. Matter of fact, I am using it now!
