I could write alot about my show this weekend. I won't. I'll just give the "basic" sense of it. Here it is "Basically".. it SUCKED! First show I did in like "forever" that I actually lost money on. Saturday, I didn't even show up. The reason, was they were calling for 100% chance of rain all day. Well, I have over $3000 in jewelry on display. That amount of "moisture" in the air would "tarnish" my necklaces. A little rain "on and off" isn't a big deal. The displays can dry. But no real way I could risk going Saturday. I heard a 50% rain for Sunday. I kinda decided I wouldn't go. Then I talked to "Joe". Joe offered me a "Free" setup in his booth. He said he did $300 Saturday, and expected Sunday to be good too. So here I am thinking.. well, his sales and mine are kinda close. I'll go Sunday.

OK.. lied... will tell about this "show". Just so you know what is "right and wrong" about them. The promoter told Joe, there was a "church group" coming in Sunday. So, I made alot of crosses, I love Jesus, things like that. He kinda promoted this to me too. When I got there, the promoter wasn't sure if I should be there even. I knew he never seen my work, perceived us separate vendors. We are separate, but we aren't too. I've had stuff in his store for years. So it is "Joe's" stuff too.. but really mine.

He gave me "Joe's" location. He wasn't there yet. I could've gone to Joe's FREE.. but I seen alot of open spaces. I told him, we work "together".. but I see an open space. How much would you charge me for my own spot? $30.. One day or two. Doesn't make a difference. It's still $30. I actually thought on it a bit. Free with Joe, or $30 for the one day alone. I opted for my own spot. I knew I could spread out.

The promoter told "Joe" when he signed up. He gave a "discount" to this large church group. They told the "promoter" At least 400 people will be coming from that alone. Plus the other events that bring people in. Well, get this. The "promoter" flat out lied. He said later.. "yeah, sorry.. They told me 400 from this church group would be coming. They said later, it'd only be like 150. I seriously doubt over 30 showed up. The promoter was "pissed too".

Not "pissed enough" to give me a break. And I know why. My booth was the "ONLY" one that had people standing around all day. He thought I was "making money" (I wasn't). It was all vendors that wanted things from me, but weren't making enough to "buy". I can usually count on vendor sales.. but not if they are totally broke too.

Joe felt totally bad for "getting me into this one".. He talked about it ALL DAY really. Wasn't his fault. I know, he owes me a "few hundred" from his "store sales (of my stuff)". I pushed "NOTHING". I know for a fact, if I had "asked", he'd pay. I know for a fact.. I'll hit him up at "Christmas time", when he makes the good money. Probably want it more then anyway.

I know I can be a "MAJOR DICK" here.. That's only because it's just "talking to me". My shows are my life. I talked "great" to the promoter, to "Joe". At the end, the promoter (after he collects my money) says "Are you gonna want to do my other shows? Fuck yes, he wants me there! He wants to "up the quality" and I am one that can. I will, because I see "potential". Overall, lost money this weekend. But I see good potential. Weather, whatever, fucked this weekend. Not really the "promoters" fault (although he lied).. Not Joe's either.

His place was "cool" I can say that. Tree farm, apple orchard.. all that. Probably one of the best I've seen. Way.. (and I mean way) out in the country. It was on radio, TV, all that. Probably half a dozen "news paper" people, or whatever came to take pics of me working. Free food to vendors too. What I am saying is, it was "Well Promoted". I'll do the guys other shows. Hell.. he gave me a "stack" of applications...

I had a choice of "4-5" good shows to do next weekend. Opted for a one in "Durand". My daughters "Middle school". We're in.. Maybe not the "best choice", but good for me. I'll update ya all.
