A Journey Into My Life

Life & Events > For Sybilmariee

For Sybilmariee

This post "won't" make alot of sense to many. It will to "Sybil" a bit. It deals with a post she wrote on my blog about my buddy "Craig".

It's about "people getting out" and doing things. She stated, some are just "bored or lazy", don't want to go out. She also said.. some are just more "content" in their home environment, and don't want to leave. Now, I can say.. I can't remember her exact words.. but these are close.

Craig used to go to shows with me like over "20 years" ago. I can post the pictures (if anyone questions my truth). I got pictures of him "sneeking into Niagra Falls in NY" with me (late when closed). He wasn't a "homebody" back then. He is now.

I am a "Homebody too now". Believe it or not. My life isn't really "conducive" to it tho. I am a "Homebody at heart", but I still need to go out and make a living. If the "truth be known", I'd "WAY rather" sit in my garden pulling weeds, when my buddies tell me "Come up north this weekend, we'll hang out with the Detroit Red Wings" all week. Then they do, and eventually I see the pictures.

I have "absolutely" more opportunities to meet "rock stars", "Sport stars", and people like that then anyone else you know. But.. How do I feel? I feel "Tired" if you want the best word for it. For the last "24" years, I have set up at events. Plus I grew up with it too. My entire life has been "going to events". I've met "Motley Crue", I've met "Slaughter", I've met "Quiet Riot", Ive met "Eddie Money", I've met "Metallica", Plus a dozen or so "soap opera stars. I guess, I couldn't write a blog of all I met in "person". I'm just ALWAYS there.

To me.. it's like "been there done that". It's not exciting to me. Craig used to love going to the shows. Not exciting to him either. The difference, he did it a few years. I've done it forever. I do it every week. Over 24 years on my own.

The only reason I go to the shows now, is to make money. Pure and "simple". I am there to "pay bills". I don't care who I meet really. If you want to know the real truth, I am on the "IN" with most promoters. That means, while they are setting up the "event", when they pay this "sports star or whatever", I meet in person before people come in.

So you wonder why I'm not "rich". Simple as "chit to me"! Any show I do, my fee goes WAY up when we have a "major" sports star coming in.

Gotta find a "show" this weekend. I'm avoiding it now, but I can find one at the last minute.

Sometimes I hate my job. I'd rather be in the garden..

Gary :)
