A Journey Into My Life

MyBloggers Changes

I don't have the "ability" to change "MyBloggers". I actually love it the way it is. I do however have some "ideas" that I think would make it better.

No, I am not ready to jump out and make a my own "blog site". I am quite "capable", but I just like it here. To me, we have all became "friends" (kinda like family really). I'd like to remain here, but there are some things I'd like to see changed. Voice your "opinions" from what I say. Pretty much.. we're the ones here.

1) I would like a "craft mall" here. Do you know just how many "talented artists and crafters" are here? MyBloggers collects the talented artists, as easy as it collects "gays". Lots of both are here... lol.

One of my ideas is this. Wouldn't you rather buy "Christmas" presents from your friends on "MyBloggers" then Walmart? Why not start a "craft mall". Link it on the main page of the "MyBloggers site"? All of us that do "crafts, art, or whatever", would have a way to sell stuff here. To our friends.Even if it's just something you had to sell that wasn't an art.

Eddie created this "site to make" money. I don't care what he says.. he isn't making "chit now" (here). I've been in business long enough to see that pretty "clear". He's probably just keeping it up because he likes us here. Costing him too I bet.

If we start a "craft mall" we could give "Eddie 10%, 20%" or whatever of our sales. It won't break our bank, hell every show you do you have "fee's". To keep everything honest.. I propose "Eddie" creates a "Paypal" account for this. All money will be paid to him at first. He get's the money. first, you do the work and shipping. With "Paypal" VISA, MC, all that are accepted. Once you "ship the product", he will paypal you your portion (he keeps his). Perfect "check and balance" system. It wouldn't "overwhelm him or you". It's be a few hundred in your (and his) pocket now and then you didn't have before.

2) I'd definitely like to change the "chat room". Awhile ago, I proposed this idea of "scheduled chats". The one time I did.. people did come in. 7, or 8. More then came before. The only reason I could see "that it wasn't hopping" was because of "time zones", "work schedules" and such. I think if we could ALL get together on this thing, the "chat would be filled" with people. I think most of us would like to talk in "real time" chat, instead of just read blogs.

3) I "respect" Eddie greatly. I won't say different. To me, he is the "smartest" blog owner I ever seen. With that said, I don't like his "idea" of this being a "private blog". If you "invite someone, they can come in". People just can't find "MyBloggers" on the net and come in now. I understand it stops alot of "spam bots" and such. But I don't think it's a great idea. Other ways to deal with that crap. I'd like to see this blog site "Grow". It really won't "grow" with just "us" inviting friends.

4) Pure and simple. The "Graphics" on this site "suck". Twenty years ago (when I first got into computers) I could make a better looking site. Content is "king", MyBloggers has that. Still needs a little more "eye candy". Blogster has "tried", but they don't have the "flair for it". I don't know how "limited" Eddie is in this area. It's a "canned site".. meaning I am certain.. there are things he can and cannot change. It's the same "template" Blogster started out with.

Other news...

Roxann's computer died today. She was using it, and she heard a "poof sound". She has "no power to her tower". She has power to her printer and all else.

Logically, it could be one of three things. It could be a "power supply" out. It could be something on the motherboard. Could even be the "button" where it turns on.

I'm pretty "certain" it's the "Power supply". Just listening, and checking out things.. that what I guess. I have no way to "test it".. so I am flying on instinct.

We called around. To test it.. about $30 alone (testing). I talked to the computer shop owner. Told him what I know.. and wanted advice too. He suggested, to do this on the "cheap".. take out the power supply. You won't have to have it tested (was already in my mind anyway). Buy one, and if it doesn't work.. take it back. Now the "power supply is out". No fucking way I want her "hogging my computer".. lol. I gotta fix hers.

If it turns out to be the "Power supply", will cost between $20-$30. If it happens to be the main board, I say lets just buy a "kick ass one". I'll swap components. We got a great show coming up this weekend. That would be like $150. Hers will be better then mine then.. lol. I can do the work. I know computer chit well.

My instincts say "power supply". Lets see if I am right!

Gary :)
