A Journey Into My Life

Life & Events > Her Kids

Her Kids

You can read my posts. Think I am some "hard ass" on her kids. Think whatever you want.

The truth is, I get along with her kids "great". They actually love me. If I would say my biggest fault, I am not "after" them enough.

I'm just "super worried" for their "well being"! I really am. I see them getting "flunking grades", I know they don't know "chit about life". They have no sense of "even clean" up after themselves. They are both "nearing adulthood".

When I was that age, I was helping my "stepdad" pull transmissions out of cars. They don't know where to put the "oil in". When I was that age, I was at work with my parents "every week" at a business. They don't know anything about anything really. Except video games maybe.

I've taught them a few things. I got the "riding mower" working. Both can drive it now. It's a simple thing, but still important. Roxann didn't trust them, so I had to push the subject so they could. Sure both "crashed" it once.. lol. but I hear their grandpa did too.. lol.

I'm just "worried"! I find them both VERY naive. Both have "terrible grades", been held back. They are at the age they are nearing "adulthood".

I don't "yell" all the time or anything like that. Actually, I yell very little. These are her kids. I want to make some "influence", but not alienate either.

I feel, they will both be lucky to be working "Burger King". I really do. Once in awhile I will mention this, but I don't push it. It's just sad for me to see. I don't think they are "stupid", I just think they never had "boundries". They never had much experience either.

They grew up alone. She worked as a single mother. She wasn't there. They ran the home. Ran it in the ground. They lived in "Flint" Nigga land (no it's not against blacks, it's that gang chit they were around. They never fell to it but were around it).. so that is a factor too. Not much she could do, but "yell" when she got home. They ignored her. I think, she finally gave up. That's my opinion, and when she reads this she will "hate" me for it. But she knows me, I never lacked opinions.

I consider them "good kids" overall. Caught Jeremy stealing, caught Stephen downloading porn. But overall, they are good kids despite their previous experiences.

I serious worry about their "well being" in life. All I feel I can do is be "me". Straight talking Gary. Hopefully some things sink in.

Gary
