Healthcare Thoughts

Healthcare thoughts...

Last night, this "brainstorm" hit me! Like a ton of bricks really.

I have been going about "universal healthcare" all the wrong way. Instead of trying to convince voters that "letting 50 million Americans go without care" is wrong.. (they really don't listen).. I now think it's better to "show them".

I say, lets just shut out "healthcare system" down. For like a year. Lets make sure "NOBODY" in America can get Perscription drugs, lets make sure NOBODY can see a doctor. Get the surgery they need. Lets just shut the fucker down!!!

Crazy you say? Yes it is. And nobody will go for it. Except maybe the "50 million" here that haven't had it for years.

I think if most Americans REALLY knew what it was like. To go years and years without healthcare they can't afford. They'd think different on the subject. After that year, everyone would get their ass in gear, and make sure all Americans have healthcare. Much like those "underdeveloped countries do!!!
--------------------------------------------------

Other news. I will be making the show. The van is all "legal now". It has a new battery, new wiper blades. Tires filled, fluids filled. Runs like a dream now. Even the transmission is working well. See, they need "fluid".. lol. I think that was mostly the problem. It has a leak.. Well the van still is old and has other problems.. but I fell way more confident going to the show in it now.

When I tested it today, the blinkers, windows, and other stuff didn't work. I figured it was a fuse. So I bought a box of new ones to work on at home. On the way home though.. suddenly the blinkers began to work. I knew it wasn't fuses, maybe a loose wire. So I began trying to find that.

I found out it was multiple problems. A loose connection on the fuse box. But also, when you start it. You have to move the "key" back a little. Or it won't all all to work. Last time it ran, I had to change alot in the "steering column". I may not have got all back in place the way it really should be. Anyway, now I know the problem. So we are "ok". We're all loaded for the show tomorrow, and should do well.

They never got our check or application. So we have an "end spot" now. Yet there are tons of people there. Once I am there, I can talk to them and get a better location (I am sure). So all looks good.
------------------------------

I'm not really a "mechanic". I admit that. Yes I work on cars, motorcycles.. all that. I just don't consider myself a "mechanic". I can pretty much fix anything. Just a "mechanic" REALLY knows how everything works. I know somewhat, but not on that level. What I do have however, is a great ability to "look at something", figure how it works quickly. And fix it. Sometimes I have to call people, ask a few questions. But I can get most things working.

The difference is this. Computers, I kinda know "inside and out". That's why I say, if anyone has a computer problem.. ask me before you hire some ass who doesn't know half as much as me. Cars, yes I know how the pistons work, alternator.. all that. But say the "inside on a transmission", my knowledge is limited. Computers, I consider myself an "expert". Cars, I consider myself a "shade tree mechanic". I can do it, but I don't know all the details I wish I did.

Wish us luck at the show!!
Gary :)
