I'm getting ready to do "what I think" will be my biggest (best selling) show this year. It's "Fri, Sat, and Sunday" in Ypsillanti Michigan.
Paul (who I recently partnered with), is coming over tomorrow. What we need to do, is make some "new displays" so we fit in easier together, condense the space. Personally, my display cases hold like $3500 in stock. His, I don't know exact.. but it's alot too. We are trying to make "2" large booths. We will be working on that "constant".
We are a little like "salt and pepper", but alot alike too. His stuff is "cool", mine is cool. I can't see us NOT being the "biggest vendor" attraction at any show we do. Well, we already are. Just we want to "fine tune this thing".
Paul has the "Gift of Gab". I sure can say that. I have an entire life doing shows, and a "great deal" of experience in many areas. We work together well, and get along perfect.
To me. Paul.. I'll make "suggestions" where we go. You do the talking. Paul just has this "incredible" way about him. Paul can talk us into the "best spots", the "cheapest price", and we share booth rent. I can do that too.. always have. But I am not even close to how he does. Plus with us "together" it makes the whole thing "bigger".
My work and "experience" shows to the promoters. They see how quickly I draw a crowd to watch me work. I won't have to do alot of talking to them now. I delegated that to him. What happens is, when the promoters see how "cool" it all is together. We get top spots, private invites, free fee's.. all the perks.
Well today. I cut "40" coins. I wanted to do more, but I set up my work bench outside. It started to rain, so I stopped. I want to do 30-50 every day before the show. I am certain at this one.. I'll be selling all I can make. Paul is driving 2 hours tomorrow to see me, and work on this condensed (but better) display.
Good thing he is coming. He is a "mechanical wizard". He knows everything about "cars, boats, anything electrical". Well, our water stopped today. We have a well.
The last time I filled up the pool we have "10 ft/30in deep" was 2 weeks ago. And it's been "raining". I assumed we didn't run the well dry. Paul agrees. Plus he knows "ALOT" of that stuff. He went on to logically explain why it isn't the well dry. Stuff I "assumed" already, but he confirmed what I "assumed" in a way I know "positive now". Anyway, he will be coming over anyway, and can check it out. We'll go from there.
The most "logical" thing.. is it's the "pump in the well". The reason.. (which I said before I even talked to Paul). The water pressure was fine earlier in the day. All anyone (me) used water for was to fill up 2 pots of water to cook. No sediments coming in, nothing like that. It just stopped suddenly. I checked the "breakers", none tripped. I went out to the well. Usually, you can hear the pump running. When the faucets are open. Well.. no noise nothing. Seems to me, if the pump was going you'd hear something. Nothing..
I assumed the "pump went out". After I called Paul.. he feels that is a "high probability". But also thinks, maybe there is an "electrical problem" before that. Maybe in the breaker box or elsewhere. So he is gonna come.. and we can check it out.
Paul says, If we had the "equipment" to pull the pump (if it seems it's that, he can fix it. I believe him.. he is an "expert at stuff like this". I think to myself. Lets let Paul look it over. My brother and one of my best friends both own construction companies. They got lots of equipment. They might have something. First I want to have Paul look at it. I am pretty good at looking at something and figuring it out. But if I don't know the subject, my mind is limited. Paul knows all about wells. After I hear what he thinks.. I'll be calling around to see what I can sort. If I can't work out something.. well we will have to call a professional with the equipment. I hope not, it will cost "shitloads" of money. My profits from this show basically... grrrr.. At any rate.. we will be without water a week or more.
I love working with "Paul". For one, we are both "experts" in different areas. Areas we both need eachother for. It's almost like a "perfect" situation working for him. If he breaks down or something, he will have us to help. If I do.. I got him. He is a better "talker then me", but also most promoters "know me". I couldn't state all the "advantages" to this.. I'll just say it's cool.
Anyway.. I'm out. Gonna be a "busy" week for me. Cutting, making displays, setting up.. and watching our baby.. lol.
Gary :)
