Gary drinks. Gary flirts with all the skirts. Gary says he studied religion for years. He even claims to have written a Bible program. What's up with this "Gary" dude many wonder.
Gary speaking...
I do all that. I don't deny. I have also studied "all religion" for about 8-9 years. I don't so much now but I still read.
In all that, I have came to the 100% conclusion that "Jesus (God in the Flesh) is true. I also came to the 100% conclusion that most "mainstream" churches either can't "relate" what true scripture is about (maybe don't know), or distort it in a manner that it "hurts" rather then helps. Most churches explain it to help their own teachings.
SOME OF MY BELIEFS:
1) All Scripture is "inspired by God". That doesn't take into account that God inspired the 66 Books of the Bible to help man. If you read the books of "Matthew, Mark, Luke and John", you will find the same story, but told from "different" angles. What "John" (for example wrote) was based on what he seen in the church. John said "I permit not a woman to speak in church". He didn't mean women couldn't speak, he probably seen some "yapping" and he wanted to stop that. He wanted a "cordial" meeting, where people were there to hear the "message". Not be disruptive. God inspired. But you have to "read between the lines" here what God really wanted.
2) I sat in a church in my youth. The pastor got up and said "The Bible says, it's a shame for a man to have long hair". I was 18, I had long hair. I looked on the wall and seen a " picture" of Jesus. He had "Long hair" (the reason we are here). This is probably what started my "intense" study of the Bible. I thought, why is this pastor saying that. Jesus has long hair. I began to study very "deep" 8-9 years intense. Like 12 hours a day. Every question that I felt I solved, I then had another dozen to answer. About the hair thing. I found "Paul" actually said "tresses" in the original Greek language. It had nothing to do with hair really, it had to do with men trying to be girls. It was a long "goldylock" thing. Again, Paul found that against God. I think because of the times. But again also, God spoke to men to make life better. I believe "Paul" was trying to make things better with what was going on in that period. Jesus had long hair. He was a "Nazarite". They took an oath to God to "not cut the hair" as a public showing of faith. The point is, God loves what we "try" to do for God. And he gives basic guidelines.
3) My personal sexuality-- I find nothing wrong. Yes at times I like to "role play", yes I try to do different things. What I believe "God" wanted in the Bible, is for a couple to be true to eachother. Enjoy eachother. We are ALL smart enough to know "unwanted kids" is bad. We ALL know cheating is bad. I promise you, read your Bible cover to cover. There won't be one "Scripture" that tells you "how to have sex". Lots will say about the bad stuff. An kid born, with no parents caring is a BAD thing.
4) Gays-- Biblically I could make a case both "for or against gays". There is no lack of scripture that won't point against it. However, if you really "examine" those.. look at the "picture behind the picture". Most deal with men raping men, and alot of other bad things. I find no scripture, to say (for a fact) homosexuality (in itself) is wrong. With that said, it's very CLEAR, God wanted "Man and woman together" to make more people... lol. I am neither for nor against gays. I am 100% for equal rights. So unless God guides me different I support "Gay Marriage and whatever".
5) Drinking-- Drinking is not a sin in and of itself. Sin is actually "rebellion" against God. Jesus himself turned "Water to wine". The difference is, if you know you drink too much it is SIN. It's not sin because you drink (because of rebellion), it's sin because you know your wrong and God wouldn't appreciate it. This is BY FAR my biggest sin.
6) Sin-- This is probably the most "mis-concepted" thing in the Bible. When the "LORD JESUS CHRIST" died on the cross, he did that "willing" for you, me and everyone. He died for every sin. Past, present and future". You are "saved" right now. It's not really that you "accept his free gift", it's more if you reject it. Do you think God is so "vain" that he doesn't accept kids in "Zimbawee" (or wherever). Catholics think if a kid is not "Baptized" they go to purgatory. None is true. You may be an "Athiest here". Your going to heaven as well as those babies. God WILL make a case to you. About his existence. If he doesn't, you are covered by what Jesus did on the cross. I look at some "Athiests" here, and think.. reach them God. I know they are going to Heaven, but you can show them so much more on earth. It's not when you "accept" (you are already there), it's when you know truth and reject.
7) Many churches say.. "Give up your sins", and come to God". That's like putting the "cart before the Horse". If people could do that, we wouldn't need God. Think about it. If you "ask him in your life", what he will do is slowly work with you. He will put something there, that you will WANT to do things better. It's not immediate. It's a lifelong process. People SO misunderstand thing... If you ask Jesus in your life, he will be there. You will still sin.. your sins become less. He comes to help you.
8) So I look at "short skirts". That is human nature. Think about it, your dad looked at a "short skirt", and suddenly you was born.. lol. There is NOTHING wrong with "human sexuality" God invented the thing. Everyone you see, is there because of a sexual encounter (cept a few test tube peeps). The point is, this is all fine. Just be WISE with your sexuality. All GOD wants, is good for people.
Take care all, Gary
