Yeah, I was "almost ate" tonight.
At about "midnight" tonight, I got one of those "crazy ass brained" ideas in my head. See, I quit smoking like a "year and a half ago. But I been "cheating" at times. I decided I needed a "cigarette". Hell, It's only a "4 mile" walk (round trip). That makes sense for a "non-smoker" (right?). Decide to walk 4 miles for a "cigarette", when you don't smoke.. lol? That is however me.. to a "tee".. lol.
I filled a mug of beer, and I was on my way. I really didn't drink it. I don't even know why I do that. The minute I think it may be "flat", I dump it. I did that before the first "quarter mile".
Anyway, so I went to the store. Got smokes. Walked up that "huge ass hill" I was telling you about before...
Getting closer to home, I hear this "barking". Two dogs came after me like "bats outta hell". One medium size, one "HUGE". I don't even know what they were. I didn't even look. Yet they were less then "2 feet" from me in attack mode.
I've been around "animals" all my life. I've been around "teenage punks", "gangster types", and the worst of the worst... "I've been around WOMEN"!!! ..lol.
What I learned in life. With any of these.. "Show no fear". Just go about your way and do your thing. Don't "overeact". They "smell fear". If they don't sense it.. usually they will back away. If you waver in the least bit, they will have your ass for lunch.. lol.
All I did was say. It's "ok".. well they still followed me quite awhile. I never looked back, never said another word. I didn't try to run or anything. So I had two vicious dogs inches from my butt "teeth, growling, snapping" all that for about 1/4 mile. I walked at a natural pace, never looking back.
I'm actually "very good" in tense situations. I'll have to tell you sometime what I did once when a couple of dudes in "Detroit" pulled knives on me. That will be another time tho.
I have a "moral" to this story. It's something I hope you ALL learn (if you haven't already). Walk tall, and be strong always. Even if you know the "other" can tear the chit out of you. If you seem confident (whether it's a person or animal), if they perceive your "strong", they will back down.
Anyway, take care all! Gary :)
