Life Begins At Retirement

Homecoming

It is homecoming weekend at Buffalo Grove High School which is three blocks from my house. There is a football game tonight. I can hear the announcer and the band playing. Later there will be fireworks which we will walk over to see. I am not really a sports fan but I love the sounds of the crowd and the band floating through the air on a fall evening or a Saturday afternoon.

I remember fondly the homecoming parades when I was in high school, we made floats on flat farm trailers covered with chicken wire and paper napkins stuffed in the holes, and a bonfire.
