I wanted to see the movie "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" but kept putting it off when it was at the local theater. I knew there was a reason. Yesterday a library near me was showing it for free so I went. There were two showings, one in the afternoon and one in the evening. There were about 100 of us there in the afternoon. Ninety women of a certain age and ten men. What a friendly crowd. Lots of conversation between strangers before the movie started and lots of laughing during the movie. I had read the book and was surprised how the scriptwriters kept the characters and changed the plot a lot. I liked the movie more than I liked the book, mostly because I liked the actors. Lots of British favorites-Judy Dench, Maggie Smith, Tom Wilkenson, and the young man from Slumdog Millionaire. Next month the library is showing "Moonlight Kingdom", another one I put off going to see and will now see for free. Free is good, isn't it?
