Foxes

Thanks to Troutbend, we are learning a lot about foxes. She is such a foxy lady. I always look forward to her pictures and stories about Foxy. Which brings me to another viewpoint. A friend wrote on Facebook about a fox taking an afternoon nap on her driveway. The friend wrote that the fox, his mate and two kits lived in her neighborhood. She lives in a Chicago suburb. I thought How cool. I seemed to be in the minority. Many comments were disturbed about wildlife living nearby. These people seem to forget that the wildlife was here first, before the subdivisions. Fortunately, now the other side is coming forth, commenting also about how cool to have a fox living in our area. We MyBloggersites are so lucky to have Laura share her pictures and experiences with us. Thanks, Laura.

I have a couple of traps to catch critters (mostly raccoons and "piney" squirrels--to be released far away), and I fear I'll one day be the proud owner of a skunk. Then what, I wonder???

We constantly wonder what kind of life Quackers has had so far. I posted "Found: Really Nice Goose" signs are various businesses and post offices. Someone must really miss him. He enjoys activity around the yard, the noisier the better.

Yep, rural areas aren't the only homes to wild animals.

A skunk set off the motion detector light in my back yard on Monday night. Then it left.

We forget that the wild ones were here first. Too many people move into the country and then want the country-ness gone.

I think foxes are easily domesticated. I would love for Laura's fox to
bring a kit to see her.

And his wife too.

You're welcome. I wish this fox could tell us where he learned to like people.

And how did Quackers learn to be so sociable?

I love 'her' fox and now Quackers--living in an area that is surrounded by wildlife even if it is crocs and snakes and geekos along with parrots, conures, etc., certainly make life interesting :O)
