Here Comes the Snow ...

Can you believe it? January 12th and it is finally winter here. We have only had 2 cold days so far and one dusting of snow. We are expecting 4-8 inches between now and Friday. I am ready. Three shovels are out. I have gas for the snow blower. The lawn mower is in the back of the garage. The porch glider is covered with a tarp. The little brush/scraper is in the car. The two grandsons have strong backs. Bring it on.

It is really very pretty. It was a little nippy (wind chill 6) when I was out snow blowing at 7 this morning.

I hope it's pretty and melts away quickly. In my experience, the first big snow of the season is always wild because over the summer everyone forgets how to drive in snow and they find out their tires are too bald for traction.

It is very pretty. I still hadn't taken down my Christmas tree so now I lit it again and it actually looks like Christmas was supposed to. Tree will definitely come down on Saturday. The snow will still be here. You are right-people drive like they have never seen snow before. It seems like the big vans, etc., are the crazy drivers.

Winter was supposed to come here a month and a half ago. It is just throwing off the arrival of spring when this lateness happens. I hate winter. Give me summer any time.
