Hermit or Vampire?

That was the quandary I faced today. Which one, I asked myself. Over the course of the last several years, I’ve almost become a recluse. I had to ask myself, “Jack, are you more like a hermit, or a vampire?”. Well, after pensive thought, I came to the conclusion that I would be more like a hermit than a vampire. First, I have a day job now, so I have to be in the sun a lot. Definitely a vampire no-no. (As opposed to having a night job, especially graveyard shift.) Could I assimilate myself to a vampire lifestyle? Hell yes! I love sleeping during the day and working through the night. Always have.

Now, on to the question of why I think of myself as a hermit. Well, the simple answer would be that I don’t go much of anywhere or DO much of anything these days, other than hanging around the house. Granted, if I still had a job that was paying almost three times what I’m making now, I’d still be out there going places and doing things. If I ever find a better paying job, I’ll be out there again, but for now, this is the life I lead. Not that I’m complaining mind you, its just an observation of my everyday situation. I used to catch quite a few spring training baseball games, as well as farm league hockey games, but both cost money to attend and money to get to. Monies I just don’t have. I attend a few family holiday get togethers and on occasion have gone over to a buddy or twos house to hang out and do nothing. Ok, we grill up steaks, but still, that’s about the extent of it. Does that even count as going out? I also just finished taking the ‘RealAge’ test and it said that my calendar age is 51.1 years, but my RealAge age is 57.7 and I’m guessing they mean that in a bad way. Oh well, that’s the way it goes sometimes. (I wish they would use our RealAge to qualify us for social security! lol)

Now, on to the important news. After much deliberation and scouring the websites and stores, I decided upon a PC over a Mac. First, there was the cost issue. Mac’s tended to cost a bit more dinero if you know what I mean. I ended up with a better processor, 50% more memory and a 1 terabyte hard drive and it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. Now I’ll definitely have plenty of room for whatever I want or need on my PC. I browse, load and download stuff so much faster now that I dang near got whiplash! Ok, that’s BS, I was amazed, but I didn’t really almost hurt myself. I also want to thank everyone for their input on the ‘Mac vs PC’ Challenge. Your input was indeed valuable and informative, as well as great appreciated. Thank you again.

As for the hermit thing, I seem to spend pretty much all of my time here, cleaning, doing dishes and laundry and surfing the web. I do watch some TV, but that’s mostly sports like football, baseball and basketball. Going out for me means yard work, at least most of the time.

That’s all from the home front for tonight, so I’ll call in an evening and bid thee adieu. Keep warm, be safe and be happy.

Later gators!

Good choice on the PC. Having one of each, I like my PC just fine and like you say, you get more for the money.

I have been a hermit before and I liked it. I do go stir crazy sometimes though! I am hoping a new and better job comes your way SOON. I really do. Too funny on the real age thinger, I always get higher than my actual age and I agree that it would be nice if SS was provided for those of us with an old real age.
