My First Acrylic Painting ...

SENECA, SPIRIT GUARDIAN

I have been painting with oils now for about 15 years or so. Several months ago I saw an advertisement about Atelier acrylic paint, which stated "Chroma Atelier Interactive acrylic paints stay wet on the palette and do not form a skin which allows blending and reworking of paint layers. The paint can continue to be manipulated even after it is touch-dry. Simply restore moisture with an atomizer spray and continue to interact with the paint. These intense colors are archival and lightfast with minimal color shift once dry." So, I decided to go out and purchase them. Unfortunately, none of the local art stores carried this product and one store talked me out of purchasing them, since they were pricier than other acrylics. I purchased a different brand and I was so disgusted I said I'd never even try to use acrylics again.

Well, I viewed the art work of another artist, Cara from from Trinity, North Carolina. Her art work was wonderful and I loved the quality and texture of the fur work on her animals. I wrote to her and we have since become friends. She was so helpful, kind and encouraging. She told me that she used Atelier acrylics. Well, that was enough for me. So I ordered them online from Dickblick art supplies and this painting is the result of my work with Atelier Acrylics. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Atelier Acrylics! They're worth every penny and their advertisement certainly speaks the truth about their functionality. And as for my friend Cara, this young lady is on her way to a successful career in art. Her attitude, generosity of spirit and wisdom at the young age of 19 just tells you where her future is headed. This is Cara's link to her blog where you can view some of her art https://carabevanartfromtheheart. blogspot. com

I love this one too! Good job, the wolf's eyes.....
I love acrylics, clean up is easy on me and the environment.
Plus I like to switch out things, nick knacks, recycle and re-purpose, painting with acrylics I can do just that, and later if I want my kitchen canisters back to green instead of the color I painted I just soak it in hot water and it peals right off.

Your wolf is beautiful! One can see the fur. You never did say what the experience of using acrylic was like for you. As you know, I use both oils and acrylic. They are very different, so I appreciate your frustration in working with this medium. Again, your Seneca is beautiful.
