Woooooo hoooooo!!!! We have had our first calf for this season. I'm excited. I wish I had our digital camera here, but JR has it with him. So I googled a picture, but it doesn't really reflect what I have just taken a look at in the pasture. My little calf is still wet, wobbly, and trying to find it's mom teats. But, he/she is looking pretty strong. I couldn't get close enough to see the sex as I didn't want to bother mom and baby.

Well... one down and 34 cows left to calve. Yep, out of our herd, we only have 35 cows left and we may have to sell them. I don't think I can bare not having cows, but we may not be able to survive the economic downturn unless we get rid of them.

I do wish I had my camera, I'd send the President a picture and ask for money for feed for these moms and babies.

Also, my drunk feed person has the pickup and feed trailer stuck in the meadow. Now... I'm waiting for our other neighbor to pull us out with his cat. I told that man not to drive in that area, but I think he has lost most of his brain cells to whiskey. Aaaaugh!!!!

Anyhow, I'm celebrating a calf birthday today!!!!!
