Last Sunday, JR and I went to a memorial service over in Langell Valley which is where I grew up. It was a really wonderful service and I saw so many people who I had not seen for years and years. It was like taking a step back in time. We had a great visit with everyone.
Then... we took a drive around the Langell Valley to see what was the same and what had changed. I pointed out to JR where everyone had lived when I was young. JR didn't know the valley that much as he grew up on the otherside of Bonanza in Dairy and only came to the valley on occassion... mostly to date me. Hmmmm.... ;o) We also drove up in the mountains to Gerber Reservoir which is very high dessert with blue, blue waters which irrigate the valley and has changed it from scrub sage to lush fields of hay and pasturelands. Both of us had fished at Gerber growing up. Guess, we will have to go back there and try our luck now that we are senior citizens. lol
We then traveled to Bonanza where we attended elementary and high school together. (We were in the same class.) We ate the best hamburger in the world at the Longhorn Saloon and Resturant. They really do make the best hamburgers I have ever eaten. I had "The Cowboy Burger" which has lots of lettuce, onions, tomatoes, along with bleu cheese crumpled atop the 3/4 lb beef patty. Wow... it was more than I could eat. The last time I was there I had the "Annie Oakley" which has loads of guacamole along with all the fixings including bacon. These are hamburgers to die for!!!!!
After a day like that, I must admit the evening was even better. We watched some Olympic coverage and then for the first time since any of my back surgeries, well..... we had S-E-X. I won't elaborate only to say, everything still works. lol
My only regret of that day is I wish I would have taken my camera on the drive. It was a really great day!!!! I did google some pics of the area and placed them on my profile page. You might want to take a look.
Annie :o)
What a perfect day (and night
