I'm really down tonight. I found one of my newborn calves dead. I had seen it at noon, but didn't pay any attention because I thought it was cow #90 and her calf and they have been okay. It was under the same tree and I just assumed it was the same cow. Well... one should never assume. It was a different cow and calf. If I had only checked more closely, maybe I could have done something to save this calf. Lots of guilt going on here. JR says I take the lose of a calf too hard. I just hope it didn't suffer. :o(
