Last night JR called me from Texas. He had been to the port at Houston and spent the day helping to direct the loading of cargo containers on to company trucks. It was a different day for him and he got paid very well for helping. It gave him a break from his regular driving routine.
But.... his son had also called him and told him about a dog that was up for adoption. Well, JR loves animals as much as I love them and so he was ready to adopt another dog. I hated being the wet blanket, but we already have three dogs. I said, "NO!" I felt really bad about using the "no" word, but I'm starting to feel like a hoarder. So, hopefully, there won't be a new dog at our house.
JR's daughter called today and invited us to Thanksgiving. I couldn't give her an affirmative answer at this time as I don't know JR's schedule. Right now, he is heading to the Port of Seattle, but he will probably get another load back East. He may not be home for Thanksgiving. I told his daughter I would let her know later. I hate doing that to someone... putting them on hold.
My daughter called to report on her children's parent-teacher conference results. The short story is that they are very smart boys. They are at the top of their Kindergarten and 2nd Grade classes. Of course, I am a very proud grandmother. Yeah!!!!!
Another day at the ranch - Annie :o)
