While today we watched the inauguration of President Obama with the swearing in ceremony, the speech, the luncheon, the parade, and all the flag waving.... it is the image of the President elect helping to paint a teen shelter which to me defines a true leader.

Yesterday morning, President elect Obama showed up at a teen shelter for girls in Washington D.C. that was being painted by a group of volunteers. He rolled up his sleeves and pitched in to help paint. My response was "how impressive and what can I do to make a difference?" That should be the response of every American.

Let's put aside our petty differences and disunity. Let's not look back but look forward. Instead of being disgruntled about the past or complaining about what isn't... let's look forward and focus on what can be. Then let's roll up our sleeves and make it happen.
