Shitty Fever

So I was interrupted from last night's broadcast by a very loud Mak. Poor Mak. At 10:30 p.m. she had a temp of 101.2. Because she has been sick at least once a month since December (except January, I think), I have become very familiar with the thing that it isn't a fever until it hits 101.4 so I thought we were getting out of the woods.
And then midnight came and Mak was running a fever of 104.5. Da Man came home from work and told me to call the doc. To make a very long story short, we alternated cold washcloths in her armpits and groin for thirty minutes and were able to bring it down to 101.3, leaving the doc to think it is something viral.
Perhaps it's because I had a doc the other day tell me that if she put Grace on antibiotics for a viral infection it may cause diarrhea, I wasn't surprised when Mak began wet farting today. As I wasn't surprised when she filled her diaper with straight brown shit water later this afternoon. But the morning started well. Ha.
She didn't wake until 11:00 this morning which NEVER happens in this house. Her temp was 99.6 (can I get a hell yeah?), and she was asking me to go back to bed at noon. After another two hour snooze and a repeat low temp I thought we were out of the woods. Until the shit thing started happening.
Ugh.
I called the doc and he said that he was getting worried about her because this temp had been going since Monday. Evidently he wasn't that worried about her because she isn't being seen until Monday at 2:30.
And speaking of Monday, I totally stole the idea from Kristy and decided to book a little mini-vacation for the girls' birthdays. See, Grace was five yesterday and Mak will be two on Monday (yes, the same day as her doc appt), so I decided that we as a family were going to take an overnight trip to an indoor water park and stay in a resort.
Now Mak has to go the doctor.
The trip has been booked for weeks.
Now Mak has to go to the doctor.
Ugh.
But I am hanging onto Mrs. Stu's "The Secret" mentality and believing that it will happen. For two days (well, one and a half really) my family and I will be away from home having a completely awesome time and making completely awesome memories on Mak's birthday.
It can happen. After all, I've been given a long enough reprieve to almost finish one load of laundry tonight. First time in a week that.
