I got in a quick word before Amerigotard set his blog on private and removed me from his friends. It's nice of him to keep everyone updated on his location (currently in Malaysia) and travels. That will make it much easier for the CIA, NSA, ESPN, NFL, MI5, AFL-CIO, and the PTA to find this international man of mystery. Austin Powers.

And yes, I noticed some weird reply/delete behavior. That's why I gave up. I only go back to see if there's stuff I want to save, see what anyone who hasn't come here has written.

Never look at the Tuesday following a holiday weekend for market guidance, unless there's legitimate "big" news. An explosion at a small refinery is grounds for knee jerk reactions in futures markets but it's not big news. OPEC historically scales down production in March, so that's not really big news. Some investors panic no matter what happens. That can be big news in itself, especially when it results in higher futures prices.

That last part is dead on. What kind of change? If it's as far to the left as I think it is, he's not going to be much of a uniter because the voters have rejected the extreme left when that's been the choice. I don't think he can win over the undecided middle anymore than Dukakis or Mondale could (and I think either of them looks moderate compared to Obama).

Cut the freaking hyperbole. It's not idiotic to privatize or contract things out. It's sensible and more efficient. I trust FedEx more than I trust the post office. You want roads and health care run like post offices? Nice, exempt me -- you pay your way, I pay mine. Move to North Korea if you really think more government is the solution. I choose liberty.

I think the most important point (from Nashua Telegraph link) is this: "the children most likely to be victimized do not have good relationships with their parents in the first place." When Mommy and Daddy care, the kids aren't going to have as many reasons to try to find substitutes.

Re the psychology of chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, there is a nexus between mind and body. The following article deals with that and points out how the two are kind of synergistic and affect mental as well as physical well-being: "The consensus is that these illnesses are truly mind-body diseases, in which biological and psychological causes and dysfunctions are inseparably intertwined. The mind seems to play a key role in kick-starting and perpetuating illness—but it's not that sufferers are simply malingerers. Their bodies are sick, and their reaction to the illness often makes it worse."

Sounds good. I made a chicken stew last week in my slow cooker (I love versaware!). Cut up a whole chicken, browned it, removed. Sauteed leek, shallots, celery, carrots. Deglazed with chardonnay. Added chicken and fresh cut roma tomatoes, salt, pepper, herbes de provence. Let it cook all afternoon.

Welcome to mybloggers and I hope you feel better.
