It's hard to photograph fireworks, and finally I stopped trying and just enjoyed the show.
No telling what this coming year will bring and where we will be celebrating next New Year's Eve, but this was a good one.
Some people at our dinner table paid $50 each for tickets to get into the Voodoo Lounge at the Rio Hotel. This did not include being able to sit at a table, that was going to cost an additional $1200 and they expect you to buy a bottle of booze for $200 - $500 and they provide the mixers for a fee and they expect tips. It is on top of their tallest tower, and has this bridge thing facing the Strip that I assume people who paid more than $50 were allowed to stand on and watch the fireworks.

It's on top of this tower that is about 40 stories tall.

Here is a picture of the blue moon rising over the Strip. For those who don't know, a blue moon is the second full moon in a month, and this one happened to hit on New Year's Eve this year, which I thought was auspicious.
