One of the questions on Cash Cab asks what TV host allegedly combats baldness with sprinkle-on hair. The answer is Matt Lauer. We had never heard of that, and we don't know if we believe it.

It brings to mind a man who was in one of our bowling leagues years ago. He had black hair, and sometime into the season, I mean weeks and weeks, we noticed that he painted hair on his mostly bald head with what looked like black shoe polish.

This was before it was fashionable for balding guys to shave their heads, and it didn't look too bad until you noticed it, and then a bunch of questions arose. For example, how did he get that straight part in it by himself - did his wife paint his head for him? He traveled a lot, and we wondered what the other people on the airplanes thought as they walked past his decorated dome.

Of course we never asked him these questions, but we always referred to him as Shoe Polish.
