I've been so busy, haven't had time to think about the opportunity to start fresh with the new year, so thanks for the reminder.
Re: Martin's free food idea: for a while some of the flood recovery rollouts had free food, and a friend and I would rank each watershed on the quality of their food first, and the quality of the presentation second.
When things got out of hand back in the 500s - 1500s etc. the Dark Ages came along. Are we set for a societal adjustment? Maybe we're already in the dark ages and don't realize it because we feel so enlightened by technology. Sending hugs.
It's a hard choice when you feel like you were already doing all you could to cut back.
Mr. Sweetie.
Dottie, I recently lost a friend who was a wonderful bright person with a lot of friends, but had descended into a black hole and I was not surprised when I heard she'd been found dead in her kitchen, a spilled large glass of wine next to her. She was 52.
At first I was relieved that she is finally at peace after a turbulent tortured life, but then I realized there is now a hole in my life and I miss the idea of her. It's not that we need to see certain people all the time or get along with them, they are a link to our family and our past and the character traits that make us what we are, even if we work hard to be the opposite. In this case I've lost my last connection to my mother - this gal who died was the last person on earth who knew or cared about the things that were important to my mother, and we could share our memories. Now it's all up to my own memories, and nobody to share with. If there is something I can't quite remember, I have no one to ask.
I like to think of my friend somewhere having a good laugh about it: see? you thought more about me than you ever knew.
With the late start of cold weather this fall, I wonder if we'll see snow later into spring, or will it be one of those mild winter years in some parts of the country where snow is usually expected.
Happy New Year to a sweet couple.
They're all interesting and engaging. I'd love to see the photo of the completed painting of that wall hanging on that wall.
Very exciting about the big slots payout. Those penny machines can suck up $5 in an instant.
I love that some of them got into the nest beds - one never knows if cats will like a new bed.
Hah!
My heart goes out to you, Jeri. I'm glad it didn't get any worse than it did, and that you had the strength and ability to do all the things you've done for and with Bobby these past couple of years.
Yes, what I would have thought was a Grandma Moses type snow scene.
I enjoyed the wood splitting demo, showed it to Mr. Troutbend, marked it Like as a Christmas present to you. There is/was an abandoned tire along the highway on the way to our post office. If it doesn't have a wheel in it, I will take it home for this. Hard to believe it's so warm and dry there in the upstate. Colorado's getting whacked while I'm here in Las Vegas: 2 inches the other day, more snow on Christmas Day. I'll bet it's pretty, but less work to not have to deal with it. Best holiday wishes.
I have a vision of you starting to nod off with your glasses on, then jerking awake to remove them to safety. Near miss.
I know your pies will be delicious and the rolls a delight. I can almost smell them now. You are all in my thoughts.
