This is the cabin that is left:

Here is their bridge:
I monitor the county's public email site and once in awhile something interesting comes up. The owner of this cabin wrote a letter to the county commissioners complaining because someone went over there and cut down a 50 year-old cottonwood in the yard. She thinks it was those tree nazis from Light and Power trimming tree branches away from the power lines. It's odd that they would do that because there is no power to that house right now, and may not be in foreseeable future. And they cut it down to the ground - maybe the homeowner would have liked a taller stump to support for a gazing globe. She lives in California and came here for the demolition, but that's it in the past many years.
Looking at that former tree when I drive by, I can feel her sense of violation, but she didn't thank the county for the $500,000 bridge or the $60,000 demolition of her condemned cabin, all she did was complain about how everything was done. She wanted the county to bring in dirt to fix her yard back, for one thing. That's not their job, and they would not be able to get FEMA funds to help with those costs if they fixed her private property.
