Today's batch of guests is a family from Texas and the parents from Windsor, not so far from here but out on the flat lands. Both of the women, mother and grandmother, act like they've got a grudge against the world, or at the very least as if this mountain expedition wasn't their idea.
I looked up the grandparents' house on Google Maps/Street View. It's amazing how that works. Take a look at it sometime if your computer can handle it. My old laptop couldn't - the memory filled up and it would crash after a few minutes. My house here isn't available for street view, and the one in Las Vegas is a block away. Maybe that's just as well.
They have a small dog named Lucky. I think it's one of those King Charles Spaniels. I hope it is a good mouser/rat dog and will catch some of the ground squirrels.
Tomorrow is fishing day and they've been getting their gear ready. We'll see how serious they are by how much gear they put on to get out there in the river. I told them to be very careful of their children because the river is still relatively high and fast.
Maybe the women will cheer up by the time they are ready to go home.
