It's a chilly week here in Las Vegas, flirting with the 20s at night, and 15 degrees below zero at my house in Colorado. I picture my heating system just sucking through the propane to keep the pipes from freezing.
My new recliner loveseat with console was delivered today, and we are enjoying it a lot. This is the first new piece of furniture I've bought in 30 years, and it's nice to pick something out at the store and have them get it here and set up. It's our family Christmas present.
It's a short Christmas season this year, which is nice - like removing a Bandaid. I'm already planning the Christmas dinner menu and also thinking about when I will get back to Colorado to keep on with getting my access road back. If the driving weather is good enough, I will leave on December 26. It will be rough living again, especially now that cold weather is here to stay, but this is what needs to be done, and I can relax when I can once again drive my truck clear up to my house.
Next week we are going on vacation, and I will try to stay in touch with MyBloggers. Hope I don't blocked again. It's usually good for about a week at a new place, so I'm optimistic.
Aside from working on my end-of-year tax planning, I don't have any projects in the works until next week when I'm going to knit two doll sweaters. I started them a couple months ago but couldn't focus, so maybe being away from all the worries will make the difference.
Yesterday I watched Mr. Troutbend bowl in one of his leagues. It's not very exciting, and once or twice a year is plenty. He's a very good bowler, but so are the other old guys, so it's very competitive.
