I've never heard of such a thing as a state patrolman getting a ticket. Just sharing it to prove it CAN happen.
"WELD COUNTY, Colo. - A Colorado State Patrol trooper is facing charges of careless driving causing injury after a crash that involved four vehicles and shut down a highway southwest of Platteville.
The Colorado State Patrol says trooper Brian McNulty was driving a state patrol SUV Monday when he struck a pickup that was stopped at the intersection of Highway 66 and Weld County Road 19.
The pickup went into an oncoming lane of traffic and struck a car. Another driver swerved to avoid the crash and also hit the pickup.
According to the Greeley Tribune, the driver of the car, Trina Colvin, suffered minor injuries and was treated at a hospital. No other injuries were reported.
A patrol spokeswoman did not return a phone call seeking more information."
Last year there was an FBI agent killed in the line of duty here in Las Vegas, and we happened to drive by the cemetery when the burial service was going on. There were many law enforcement vehicles headed there for the ceremony, and one of the motorcycle cops flipped a U-turn, collided with a couple other cop cars. I wonder who got a ticket that time, if anyone.
