We have stayed there several times and our room was always decorated with giant houndstooth check carpet in black and white with red accents. It always felt sort of couture to me, like a skirt or jacket.

Since we were in that type of room every time, I didn't realize they had anything else until last time we were there. I think maybe this was the original concept, with a comfortable more traditional feel about it.

Either decor option is fine, but nothing special. The rooms aren't very spacious, but one thing I like is that the red rooms have a little reading lamp attached to the headboard so you can read at night and not disturb your roommate. The other style has reading lamps hanging on the wall at the bed sides, but they put out more light, so might be more wakeful for others.
Noise-wise there is a lot of it from outside - traffic noise from the Strip, the explosions of the Bellagio fountains, garbage trucks at 4 am, and parking garage noise. Sometimes the late-night drunks returning to their rooms are noisy going by in the hall, which I have noticed more of at the Paris, so I think that speaks to the sort of people who choose to stay there.
One advantage, if you like this kind of thing, is in-room coffee. It's one of those machines that makes a cup at a time. I bring tea bags and use it for the hot water, too.
