One Cat's Journey

Here is the story of KooKoo the cat who would stay away from home for days at a time. His owner got a GPS logger, which records where KooKoo goes, but the information isn't real-time, the information has to be downloaded when KooKoo comes back home. This is a cheaper system than a GPS tracker.

His owner discovered that KooKoo was spending a lot of time in a natural area and started going over there and calling KooKoo, so now the kitty doesn't stay away so long. It's a cute video.

This gives a little insight into the mind of a cat!! I have always wondered
what they do on their explorations.

When I first saw that there was a geo tracker for cats, I thought it was just silly, but if the cat stays away for days like this one was doing, I can see why his person wanted to know where he went. I'd love to track that fox.

Cats do like to get out and prowl, especially at night.

When I was a kid, we lived in town and this place in the mountains was our weekend cabin. A couple of times we brought our cat Lucky up here, and he would disappear for a day or two. Of course, he could have been eaten, but he always came back. Imagine what a great time he had exploring.

Doesn't Koo Koo know the shortest distance is between 2 straight lines? Oh wait--he is a cat!!

If you tracked me, you'd say the same - my path around my property on a given area is not a straight line, either, as I make side trips to admire the flowers and talk to the goose and look at the river.
